Join Chelsea of Whimsy Makes in exploring the process of natural bundle dyeing. We will learn about preparing your fabric, natural dye terminology and how you can bring these skills home. You will get to dye your own silk charmeuse kerchief and cotton Miracle Plum tote bag to experiment with how flowers, food waste and pigments interact when gently steamed onto your items, making one of a kind prints. This is a 2 hour workshop with light snacks provided.
Whimsy Makes is a textile arts studio located in Sonoma County California. With a background in events, floral design & organic farming, Chelsea Dennis (Owner) has applied her experiences in these fields to create textile, houseware & accessory offerings aligned with her passions. Between ethically foraging for seasonal invasive plants to working with local flower farmers and restaurants to minimize waste, the process of natural dyeing is woven into the fiber of Whimsy Makes. Combining the ephemeral magic of nature with an intuitive dyeing practice, Whimsy Makes educates clients and workshop participants on creating one of a kind botanical keepsakes.
