Miracle Plum is a neighborhood market / specialty food shop / bottle shop and Kitchen located in historic Railroad Square, in the heart of downtown Santa Rosa, California.

Miracle Plum is reimagining kitchen culture and “business as usual”, to best offer a welcoming space, delicious things made well, and opportunity to get curious about seasonal food, natural wine, home cooking.

We are looking for a few good folks to join our team. We have full time and part time positions available.

Kitchen Job description:

● Committed to hospitality and caring, works well in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, and is interested in growing and learning with us.

● Willingness to collaborate with others.

● Set up and break down your workstation; stay clean, organized, and efficient.

● To act as an ambassador for the Miracle Plum brand; learn and use the pantry items, share knowledge, recipes, general enthusiasm for damn good food with everyone who comes through the doors or eats the food.

● Ability to develop menus and recipes within a local, seasonal, ethical and simple & delicious framework. Mirror and expand on the pantry items offered in the shop. Think: Delicious Things Made Well.

● As an ambassador, we want you to share what you are cooking at home. We encourage collaboration on Miracle Plum social media (photos, video, projects)

● Track inventory and help with ordering.

● Be mindful and actionable of waste reduction.

● To communicate clearly; we want everyone's voice to be heard and valued. If you have questions or concerns, speak up, send a text, or write a note. We use Slack to keep connected to each other and to projects in the shop.

Miracle Plum operates as a very small “all hands on deck” crew. As such, you will be expected to do a little bit of everything. If you have special skills - we will lean into those skills to insure you are using your gifts and your time in the very best way.

Requirements:

● Punctuality

● Excellent verbal and written communication skills

● Ability to lift 50 lbs

● Ability be self-directed and work independently and in collaboration with others

● Knowledge of kitchen equipment and utensils

● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

● Has a current CA Food Handler's Card (or can get one within 30 days of hire)

You will receive an hourly wage and tips distributed equitably among the whole team. Training lasts for two weeks at $15.20 an hour. The starting wage is $16 per hour. It is our aim to “fast track” wage increases for the first year of employment.

Shop Job description:

● To maintain the day to day running of the shop including; opening and closing procedures, stocking shelves, daily inventory, daily chores.

● To help customers, guests, and curious folks navigate the shop. General customer service; help folks find items, answer questions, answer the phone, ring up customers via Square POS

● To act as an ambassador for the Miracle Plum brand; learn and use the pantry items, share knowledge, recipes, general enthusiasm for damn good food with everyone who comes through the doors.

● To learn and know the wines; your palate is a valuable member of the crew - bring it. You will be asked to taste wines, learn about them, give feedback. You will be asked to write the wine tags and tasting notes for the wines we bring into the shop.*

● As an ambassador of the brand, we want you to share what you are cooking at home. We encourage collaboration on Miracle Plum social media channels (photos, video, projects)

● Populate and help to maintain the online shop; adding new products, pulling web orders, resolving local pick up orders.

● To communicate clearly; we want everyone's voice to be heard and valued. If you have questions or concerns, speak up, send a text, or write a note. We use Slack to keep connected to each other and to projects ongoing in the shop. Miracle Plum operates as a very small “all hands on deck” crew. As such, you will be expected to do a little bit of everything. If you have special skills such as design, writing, tech support - we will lean into those skills to ensure you are using your gifts, and your time, in the very best way.

Miracle Plum shop is retail and soon will also be wine and bites service - we consider this position to be hospitality. We want to make sure everyone who comes into the shop feels welcome and respected. We want to encourage curiosity and pleasure in cooking, food, and wine. Be friendly, share knowledge, ask questions.
