As we lead into summer, it's easy for us to ramp up our activities, so we're going to spend an afternoon with writer and artist Anna Brones talking about slowing down and enjoying time outside and with friends over fika. In Sweden, June means midsummer, the celebration of summer solstice.
Wildflowers are in abundance this time of year, and they are wrapped around the traditional midsummer pole as well as turned into flower crowns to make the day extra festive. But it doesn't have to be midsummer to celebrate. Picking wildflowers is a good excuse to get outside and slow down, a chance to disconnect and fuel your creativity.
Come join us with a kick off to the month of June with Anna Brones, who will lead us through midsummer flower crown making followed by a casual fika, the traditional Swedish coffee break.
There will be copies of her books Fika: The Art of the Swedish Coffee Break and Live Lagom: Balanced Living the Swedish Way available.
